Yes I do agree with Michael Hoffman, industrial workers were treated like slaves during the 18th century in America and Britain.
Hoffman explained that industrial workers were anyone of any age, gender and they could have any ability
In the 18th century in Britain and America a lot of people and citizens didn’t have enough money to pay taxes and supply food for their families. Industrial workers were mainly people who didn’t have enough money and needed to work. Families were separated into genders and ages, and different jobs applied for each group. These lives sounded like those of slaves that were used to make money for the rich back in 18th century.
Women were used for jobs that needed more patience and skill. Women in the late 18th century were paid very little for all the work they did every day.Women had to do a lot of the same jobs as men, so there strenths were put to the test as they worked day in day out.

Poor Houses Poorhouse\Workhouse were a tax-supported residential institution for people who were unstable, who needed an efficient and cheaper way to relieve them from being poor. Poorhouses were also a type of housing facility for the people or families who needed support . It estimated that there were 200,000 people living in poorhouses and each were separated into genders.
The community saw these people, families as poor people who were used as slaves, they were people who didn’t have familes ect
Poorhouses were mainly for those families who had little control over their actions, their families could be torn apart. Their children could be sold to work in the coal mines or factories, and parents could end up splitting up.
Life in poorhouses\Workhouses was difficult it was almost like the last place to look for food, accommodation and a place were they were more safe than out in the street. Families might also have little chance of becoming wealthy or financially stable ever again. No education was received due to the job they were given in the factories or mine.
