Anemia is quite common during this stage of pregnancy if you don’t consume at least 27 milligrams of iron every day. Heme iron or iron found in animal products is believed to be better absorbed than non-heme iron found in vegetable sources. The presence of vitamin C helps in the absorption of iron. Therefore, adding citrus fruits such as oranges and lemons in your pregnancy diet will aid quick absorption of iron.
Calcium is an essential mineral for the development of your baby’s bones and cartilage. It also helps to replenish your calcium deposits.
