Lifting has been around since prehistoric times. “For many prehistoric tribes, the traditional test of manhood was the lifting of a special rock” (Encyclopædia Britannica, 2016, para. 1). Due to the fact that these prehistoric human beings did not have the science behind lifting, there is large possibility that there were many injuries from this ancient form of lifting. Muscles work similar to a combustion engine; they both have a smoother function once they warm up. The muscles in a body, similar to components in an engine, expand or loosen once they become heated up, allowing them to move and slide past each other much easier. Correct nutrition is by far the hardest solution to injuries in weight training. Eating right is hard to do. Everyone wants to go on candy diets or chips for every meal diet but there are only a few individuals who want to be on a diet that contain all the nutrients needed for proper injury prevention. The science behind proper nutrition is a difficult subject. It requires an erudite knowledge of the gamut of nutrition in order to fully grasp it. Making the science behind foods hard for a mundane person to understand and use as a way to defend themselves from injuries.
Alongside the three solutions that were listed above, there are three flawed, basic solutions to protect the body from injuries involved in lifting. There is the possibility of continue doing whatever was being done at the time of the injury, do little to no weight in the exercise, or the individual can completely quit
