Warrant Officer Candidate Biography

This autobiography discusses the life and legacy of myself Warrant Officer Candidate (WOC) Joshua Coryell. I will converse key points in my life that lead to my attendance to the Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS), including key information about my personal and professional goals. The intention of this autobiography is to evaluate my writing abilities as well as give my Senior Training and Advising Counseling (TAC) Officer(s), a perspective on the heritage of my leadership attributes. My life began in early morning around 0600hrs in a small town christened North Platte, Nebraska on October 6, 1988. I was born into a very traditional family of a mother, father, and an older sister. My parents held very mediocre occupations, my father was a produce manager in a grocery chain. My mother held a cashier’s position at an employer similar to todays “Radio Shack”. Seeking further career development, my father was offered a job as a store manager in smaller town in Western Nebraska named Sidney. At the time, Sidney offered a very few statistics to be recognized by the globes eyes, other than being the origination point for “Cabelas”. My father and I had grown apart, but slowly were reconnecting over the years of disconnect and resentment. I was investing all my time into JROTC, slowly advancing in my cadet career into a snapshot of my future military career. I was approached my sophomore year by a Marine recruiter who convinced me to be a part of “The Few, The Proud, The Marines!” My mind had swiftly changed from Army to the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in a matter of a day.
