1800 – 1865 Wars has been part of this nation since the beginning of time. War like the Civil War was fought in many parts of the United States. The war is important as well as the people that formed part of this war, and the history throughout the years of the 1800s. First, let’s go back to the time before the Civil War happened. The United States was expanding, new territories were bought from the French. One of the main territories was the Louisiana Purchase. This land was actually bought by Thomas Jefferson for 15 million dollars in 1803. One of the reason why the Louisiana Purchase was bought was for a secure free navigation of the Mississippi River. In the other hand, the War of 1812 was fought between the United States and Great Britain. The war of 1812 changed the path of America history. The United States was able to send a big military power that eventually gained respect internationally. The main cause of the War of 1812 was because British was trying to take off the U.S. trade. Great Britain also was stopping American sea vessels, and making people of the vessels to be with Britain army; it was called impressment. Furthermore, the United States was damaged because the U.S. capital Washington D.C was burned and captured by the British. The war …show more content…
The United States political disagreement gave the way to the Civil War of 1861. There were two parts of Unions the North and the South. This both groups were in different beliefs and circumstances. The South part of the United States wanted to have slaves for their agriculture needs. Most of their economy came from cotton and slaves so fighting for slaves was one of the issues of the war. In the other side, the Northerners didn’t need the slaves for their economic base, so fighting to abolish slavery was one of their priorities.
