The Wolf of Wall Street Analysis
The Wolf of Wall Street is a film filled with sex, drugs, and lots of money. It was directed by Martin Scorsese, and released on December 25th, 2013. The movie revolves around the life of Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker who founded his brokerage firm, Stratton Oakmont. After watching the trailer multiple times, it can be concluded that the audience targeted were mainly adults and teenagers. Even more specific, they use rhetoric to appeal to large groups like college students by showing party scenes, scenes with women in bikinis, and they even throw in the use of alcohol to suggest they are having a good time. The trailer does a good job at using high tempo song to match how the trailers speed which helps the viewer get a clue on the speed of the film.
In the first clip of the trailer we see an overview of New York, the Wall St. sign, a statue of a bull, and Jordan Belfort getting applauded. The Wall St. sign can be used to show the location of the movie or it can be seen as a sign that a character may be wealthy. Then you have the random statue of the bull. To most people the bull is just some random pointless statue. The meaning of the statue can

Jodie Foster leans on two of the most revered Hollywood actors, George Clooney and Julia Roberts, to bring her new showy drama, “Money Monster”, to the forefront. Despite the stars and the pertinent topic, which targets Wall Street and its financial uncleanness, Ms. Foster stubbornly opted for a standardized approach that frustrates both our expectations and the film’s ability to find a proper voice of its own. We don’t have to wait too long for the action to begin, but that same action doesn’t take us beyond an insubstantial soap opera.…
