For the dollar project, we decided to host a clothing drive to benefit the WRAP program. WRAP stands for Wo/men’s Resource and Assistance program. WRAP’s mission is to embrace adult and child survivors of domestic and sexual violence and to empower them to rise above their abuse and move forward with their lives. The planning to the project was difficult in the beginning. When the social work 400 class was brainstorming about what would be the best activity to help, there was a lot of conflict. In planning the project, I played a compromising role. A had very little input coming up with ideas to benefit WRAP. There was a tossup between having a bake sale, a car wash, or a clothing drive. After the conflict of the initial meeting was a resolved we all worked together to make it a success. My role in the dollar project was the gate keeper and standard setting and testing. I handled all monetary donations, whether cash or card. I made everyone aware of the status of the drive and everything we had received. Everyone gave me their dollar that Professor Jordan gave to us. My role differed from ever one else because so many people were suggesting ideas, However, they fail to provide a plan for it to be carried out. I worked the clothing drive from 10a- 2p. My duties included hauling the clothes to the room we had reserved, sorting through them, and folding them. I also purchased the under garment with the money that was raised in the clothing drive. It was a lot of hard work but I had a sense of pride once the task was completed and I helped
