W.H. Yount’s chapter 7 discusses several roles of the teacher. These include environmentalist, disciplinarian, and Self manager. He further breaks down the area of disciplinarian into three small groups. These groups include proactive coping, remedial coping and logical consequences. The story that illustrates the role of disciplinarian involves one of my seniors, named Mary. In my class, I worked hard to be proactive by walking around in order to be visible and to deter any unacceptable behavior. Usually this works very well with most students but not with Mary.
