Vivint Inc. Business Analysis

Vivint, Inc. is a private security systems company founded by Todd Pederson and Keith Nelleson in 1997 initially as APX Alarm Security Solutions Inc. In 2011 they rebranded and became known as Vivint. APX Group Holdings, Inc. is the parent holding company and owns 100 percent of the company. In addition to being a security systems company Vivint is also a home automation, energy management services provider which offers its services and products in the U.S., Canada, and New Zealand. Vivint currently offers home security, energy management, home automation, local cloud storage, and high-Internet solutions to more than one million customers. Vivint Solar installs and maintains residential solar panels free of cost while the homeowners pay for the solar power produced by those panels. In 2013 Forbes magazine ranked it number 46 on their “America’s Most Promising Companies” list. In 2014 they launched Vivint Sky, a smart home system, that recognizes user’s patterns to provide a much easier and worry free home environment. The system also provides phone apps that allow for better control and supervision over homes. In 2015 the Vivint Doorbell Camera was introduced and incorporated into Vivint Sky. To add to the companies accolades and add to their marketing strategies in 2015 Vivint Inc. acquired the naming rights to the Utah Jazz home arena and renamed it the Vivint Smart Home
