White patches spread across my body. My feet, knees, elbows, hands, and all across my eyelids fall to the victim of my disease. Have you seen it before? Have you ever wonder about that person who has a discolored skin problem? Or do you know someone who might be conflicted with my same problem? Have you ever wondered how they got it or what it is? Well I’m one of those people…… I was diagnosed with Vitiligo when I was around 10 years old. In the beginning, I was struck with a virus at 7 years old. This bacteria virus spread throughout my body which causes multiple problems. It started with red, blotchy rashes that appeared on my arms and thighs. The rashes would disappear and reappear whenever I would get sick. Then the rashes developed into nasty boils. Soon I developed Bull-eye rashes on the back of my calves. My mother thought I had Lyme disease because my aunt had the same symptom before she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. But the test came back negative. I went to multiple doctors and specialists to find out what was wrong. After years of testing the rashes disappeared and the doctors never find the cause of the rashes or what the virus was. There was a girl with the same disorder that was one of the contestants. She was one of the models that were trying to win. Her disorder was very advanced and she was confident enough in her own skin to compete in this modeling contest. The judges loved how she presented herself with an inspiring manner. I was also inspired by her confidents and how different she was. Although she didn’t win the contest she got the most publicity over social media. She also got hired for lots of major famous brand name modeling jobs. After hearing her trumps I decided to not cover up and let my natural skin show through.
