Vitamins is a nutrient in which can be seen in two ways; fat – soluble and water – soluble. The vitamins within the liver and the fatty tissues would be stored away for any future uses. As for water soluble this would excreted into the urine. Fat soluble and water soluble include; A, D, E, B, C and K. Vitamin A is a retinol and allows the immune system to work effectively. This includes; liver, cheese, fruit and fish. Vitamin D is able to absorb the calcium into the intestine and regulate the calcium and magnesium – including the phosphate. This includes; fish, eggs, milk and sunlight. Vitamin E is able to act as an antioxidant and maintain healthy muscles. This includes; cereal oils, seeds, nuts and eggs. Vitamin K is required for blood clotting and so this should be included into the diet. This includes; leafy vegetables, liver, coffee, bacon and green tea. Vitamin B is needed to release the source of energy from carbohydrates and the help with the maintenance of the nervous system. Lastly, vitamin C helps with the formation of teeth, bones, wounds and gum antioxidants. This includes sources like; green vegetables, peppers, tomatoes and even blackcurrants. …show more content…

Firstly, as for young people specifically teenagers; they would actually need extra calories especially of calcium, iron and protein. Especially as they are going through a rapid physical, emotional, intellectual and social maturation.
