It is our natural attraction towards self-actualization that influences the many decisions, experiences, and encounters we will have in our daily life. A major factor in this entire journey is our personality. Personality refers to our characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting that makes us distinct and unique. Each of these categories was composed of four personality types. I was classified as a Virtuoso type under the Explorer category. The Virtuoso is enigmatic, private, calm, and sometimes spontaneous. Their cool rationalism and practical realism tendencies lead them to have a permissive nature, which contributes to their fair, “do unto others” attitude. The Virtuoso’s strengths are their optimism, creativity, and adaptability. Their weaknesses are their stubbornness, introverted nature, and dislike of commitment. Oftentimes, Virtuosos’ social relationships suffer due to their need for a lot of personal space and concealment of their emotions because they are unsure how to express them. Their desire for freedom leads others to think of them as indifferent, insensitive, distant, and perplexing creatures. Although they are well-rounded people with a variety of interests, skills, and hobbies, Virtuosos dislike being bound to commitments. Still, many people are attracted to their open-mindedness and lax attitude. Furthermore, to force a Virtuoso into a mold is like becoming their greatest enemy. The comprehensive evaluation of the Virtuoso type is that they are practical, bold, and have a strong desire to learn and explore new things that nurture their desire for personal

The Waterhouse Center was an incredible experience and an appropriate use of class time. The activities served as an informal way to get to know our peers, as well as an opportunity to analyze our own behavior. The results of my personality inventory indicate that I have a Type A personality (350 out of 380). Type A personalities are often impatient, have difficulty relaxing, and are competitive (Gray-Stanley, 2009). My impatience is evident when I take my dogs out for their bathroom breaks. As dogs will do, they sniff every bush in the yard before urinating and I find myself scolding them for being too slow. In addition, relaxation is not part of my vocabulary at this time as I constantly feel the need to complete homework or study for a test.…

“The Pro-Social Mission” If you think about what a superhero means to you, many answers may fly around like bravery, strength, or power. Very rarely do you ever hear about what exactly makes a superhero, super. In my opinion, I believe it is this pro-social mission that keeps them going on the never ending battle against the fight with evil. A hero can have as many powers or identities that they want to have, but the most important component of their being is that they have a specific goal in mind that will work for the greater good of not only the world, but the entire universe. These other two qualities, power and identity just reinforce who the superhero is.…

The analysis results from the various self-assessments have afforded me the opportunity to notice hidden aspects about myself. I have been able to perform contemplative and thorough self-examinations of my personality in order to determine viable methods to enrich my overall personality. It has been my experience that organizational behavior in many ways are similar to the institutionalized behaviors exhibited by those in orphanages or prisons. The similarities reside in the fact that the workplace is an environment where people from very different cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities and religious beliefs find themselves compartmentalized into an environment, directed towards a new way of life and then ordered to play nice…
