There has been many sources in the past year with the concern of video game’s being a huge issue for children, due to the creation of violence in video games. Many parents believe that their children are learning these violent issues due to these games, but most of us could agree that it doesn’t affect the youth at all. Americans today tend to believe that video game violence causes a strange behavior to teenagers including the youth. It is founded in Grand Theft Childhood: “The Surprising Truth about Violent Video Games and What Parents Can Do,” that some youth have witnessed one of their teachers as a character that they had murder in a video game. Which might concern critic’s that these video games aren’t teaching your children the right way to educate. However, my view about this is video game designers don’t have the intentions to create everyone in the entire universe. If the youth has ever thought about that then of course the youth shouldn’t play those types of video games. Most say the parents have the power to let their youth play whatever game that’s educational. If that is true then what’s so bad about a violent game? It isn’t supposed to create a strange behavior for your youth. That’s why there is an age restrictions on purchasing a violent video game. Focusing on video game violence, the same article Grand Theft Childhood: ‘The Surprising Truth about Violent Video Games and What Parents Can Do,” mentioned a story about two students that are avid computer gamers that enjoy playing shooting games. Most of us would agree, that playing these types of games could create a mental issue that possibly one day one of those students would bring a weapon to school. Which could create a shooting incident during school hours. But, the article mentioned that the reason why they enjoy it is because it’s an educational game about training the U.S. army. Some of us wouldn’t mind the fact that the only reason why they enjoy it is to be able to experience the life of a solider, that they might consider joining and not actually planning on creating a crime scene. In addition, Video game violence has been a huge issue towards psychologists according to the article “Video Games and Youth violence: A prospective Analysis in Adolescents,” Studies have shown that the most common reason why youth cause a violent scene is due to playing violent video games is because of a depression issue. …show more content…
Which dramatically can create the youth to actually act out a scene from a violent video game. However, if the parent notices a change of their youth, causing them depression then they should immediately check out a doctor before it gets out of hand. Many of us could agree that being depressed couldn’t make you become violent if you don’t treat it right away. Nevertheless according to the article “Childhood violence prevention education using video games, “shows that most youth that play violent video games could possibly damage the educational level. …show more content…
Because, the violent video games that are been created have changed the behavior of the youth by knowledge and attitude. Although, most believe that when a youth plays a violent video games they might learn some terms that are inappropriate for most youths. It affects the minds of those who play violent video games every day, they might end up using those terms to other youths around them. If you’re uncertain that your child shouldn’t play those violent video games due to the terms and other inappropriate stuff that might be involved then do not purchase the video game, Even if your child really wants it. Then that’ll prevent your child to learn inappropriate things and use them in educational areas. Having just argued that video game violence doesn’t affect a youths mind, teenagers play these types of video games on their free time. Although, some of these video games may have tons of inappropriate scenes or verbal words it doesn’t change the fact that these video games could create a change in a human mind because not all violent video games are about murder. Some usually have characters, for an

The adverse effects from violent media on youth have long vexed the American public. For decades, scholars studied the impact that TV and film violence had on children, and concluded that high exposure to televised violence may lead to an increase in aggressive behaviors and desensitization (Eron, Huesmann, Lefkowitz, & Walder, 1972; Josephson, 1987; Huesmann, Moise-Titus, Podolski, & Eron, 2003). However, technological advancements in the video game industry changed the media landscape, and it was expected that video game violence would have similar, possibly greater, effects on youth as TV and film; thus, video games that stimulated aggressive attitudes, feelings, and behaviors in children were of specific concern.
