In Shakespeare's play, “Julius Caesar” he explains how people use there emotions to channel violence, and how that all the characters do this, good or bad, that every human does this because it is in their nature. In the play there is a lot of violence that happens, Brutus and the conspirators kill Caesar, then Antony swears his revenge out of sadness and anger. After that, Antony starts a riot which leads to a war that kills the conspirators. In the play Shakespeare shows that it is in human nature to look towards violence. It shows when Antony says,”To young Octavius of the states of things lend me your hand.”(3.1.312) This quoted is when Antong is planning to get revenge for Caesar and kill the conspirators, and for his plan to go through he needs Octavius’ army. Another example of this would be the plebeians and how they were sad about Caesar's death, which is shown in this quote, “O woeful day”(3.2.195), which means what a sad day. The not too long later they take their violent turn, in this quote, “Revenge! About! Seek! Burn! Fire! Slay! Let not a traitor live.” (3.2.200) That was when they started to riot. These examples show how sadness turns to violence in shakespeare's play. In Shakespeare's play he shows that people go towards violence to solve any emotional problems. The three main emotions that he shows in this play would be sadness, fear, and anger. He shows how the human nature makes people use their animal like instincts to go towards violence.
