Have you ever wondered how a relationship starts. Background Information: Vinny and Joe-Boy are characters from the ravine. The are 15yr old, best friend boys from hawaii. They are going to a ravine to go swimming and to jump off a precipice. There going to a reavie where a boy named butchie died two weeks and one day ago. Vinny and Joe-Boy are in many ways similar, but still very different. Vinny is spooked because he doesn't want to go to the ravine. On page 4, Vinny said it was “too soon, way too soon” to be at the ravine. Also, Vinny is scarred to be at the ravine. He is weak because he couldn’t stand up to his friends. On page 7, it says he “couldn't even say no.” This makes him weak because he doesn't believe in himself. Vinny is very nice. On page 9, Vinny says “The water's cold.” instead of saying no I'll get in trouble. This makes him weak because he is making excuses instead of telling his friends the truth. …show more content…
On page 4, he was teasing Vinny about going to the ravine. He is a bully. Page 7, When they are at the ravine Joe-boy “jumps man style” and tries to get Vinny jump off the 50 foot ledge but he doesn't want to.
