Computer games are very popular with people of all age groups. The latest three dimensional technology has given rise to new trends in computer gaming. The computer games have such versatility that it has become a whole new industry with many companies doing business. The concerns for profits as well as competition is making the companies give new themes and dimensions to the games which may be compelling enough to engage a large number of audience. The audience also includes a large number of school going children of all age groups who like to play these games. The favorite type in games include the war games which are mostly the first person shooter games in which the player has to complete the campaigns and missions to reach the nest level. …show more content…
However, these features depict violence and aggression to such an extent that it starts affecting the minds of the children and they start behaving abnormally. They tend to react negatively towards other children, their parents and their siblings. The children do not care about the orders of their parents or the school assignments, as they become very aggressive in their relation with others. The major impact that aggressive behavior has is on their relation with other as other people and fellow students tend to avoid such children who show aggressive behavior towards them. This isolation results in further deterioration in their behavior. The children continue to play these violent video games and their aggressive behavior congeals. The parents need to step up and take serious action in order to correct their behavior by reducing their exposure to these video games to minimum so that it has no impact on them.
The essay has explored the negative impacts that the video games have on the behaviors of the school going children. These games make the children aggressive and violent in their dealings with fellow students as well their teachers and parents. There have been instances, as we have explored in this essay, when the students have resorted to violence after playing shooting games. The change in behavior was because of their exposure to such video games which depicted violence. The government and parents should ensure that the children are not exposed to such violent video
