Statement of the problem
Western classical singing is aim at producing a good quality, clear, natural, relax, and overall loud enough sound in singing. Vibrato is an important technique in good western classical and operatic singing. The pitch of the notes quickly changing up and down makes vibrato. It is one of the important means of musical performance. Like violin, Chinese erhu and other string instruments playing with rubbing strings.

Italian vocal school more likely to say: the key point to tell is it a good singing, is to see whether there has vibrato or not. (Mitchell, 2004)

Meanwhile, many singers who participate in the chorus are straight tone singers, on the grounds that the director has requested straight tone. Most

Definition of key terms
Vibrato
Vibrato has a wide range of definitions and it has been a dubious term among Early Music researchers and additionally choral masters. The expression "vibrato" in an early case, from the Grove Dictionary of 1889, compares to the cutting edge comprehension of a tremolo where a similar pitch is rehashed commonly. The instrument of vocal vibrato was characterized as "an alternate partial extinction and reinforcement of a note, producing almost its apparent re-iteration" (Deacon 1898:260). The more present meaning of vibrato is sketched out in Sadie's The New Grove Dictionary of Opera: vibrato is "A regular fluctuation of pitch and/or intensity, either more or less pronounced and either more or less rapid" (Sadie 1992:982). These two portrayals contrast basically as the prior definition does not specify a change in contribute display vibrato.

Research design
Methodological approach
The methodological approach I will use in this research are phenomenology, survey, and case study. They are made out of three primary advances: 1) Outline (research design); 2) Determination (research selection) and 3) Case study investigation (research analysis). Each progression of my methodological approach will be briefly portrayed here underneath.

Setting and participants
For collecting the data that about how do people think about vibrato, I may send out an online survey, through SurveyGizmo, SurveyMonkey, or Google Forms, to musicians who are vocal trained, musicians who are other musical instruments trained (apart from vocal singing), and non-musicians who are not musical trained. Demographic will be included, like age, gender, education, occupation, year(s) of musical trained, etc. Questions in the survey will be the same for three groups of participants as it may easier to analysis at the end, such as:

In this essay, Gould describes the performance of "Madam Jeanette" conducted by Wilhousky. Returning to his old high school chorus after thirty years, Len and Gould reminisce in their diverse and musically-talented childhood. Comparing his chorus to the one in that time, Gould recognizes that at a young age, students cannot put the right amount of emotion into the music. Along with this, the number of male participants has dropped drastically, and try-outs may no longer be necessary as the ratio of girls to boys is outrageously uneven. With these setbacks, Gould wonders if the students have put the excellence of Wilhousky aside.…

Mahler’s 4th Symphony, Berg’s Wozzeck, Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier, and the works by Boulez and Webern were all major vocal works. Mahler’s scherzo which is the foundation for the third movement is not properly a vocal piece, but has close connections with vocal music that go beyond the Antonius von Padua song. On the movements that follow the scherzo on the Symphony, Mahler introduces soloists and choir singing poems about death and resurrection. Berio’s choice of these quotations not only acknowledges the importance of the voice in music history but also carry semantics that point towards life, death and irony in between. Berio’s use of the voice, has never been conventional, since pieces like “Circles” and Sequenza III, the composer demonstrated to be more interested on the deconstruction of the musical material and of the “voice” itself.…

Lucy LaForge, from Lucy & La Mer, teams up with Katie Ferrara and violinist, Kaitlin Wolfberg to cover Fleetwood Mac's most notable track, "DREAMS. " The acoustic rendition was filmed at the Epiphany Space in Hollywood, and is an eloquent version that flows effortlessly from each artist. Emotional and familiar piano chords take center stage while Ferrara begins to gently sing "Dreams." Ferrara possess a strength in her vocals that peaks out even at the slowest moments, but pairs cleverly with the rough strings that Wolfberg orchestrates. From the original version, the notion of lucid dreaming was always felt within the melody, yet the sweet and rough approach, notably felt through the violin, is a characteristic that levels the sensitivity.…

There was a lot of good voice work in Lend Me a Tenor by Ken Ludwig, performed at Azusa Pacific University. Overall the entire cast had excellent voice work and the show was very good and very funndy. The cast’s breathing, resonance, and articulation all helped to evoke a comical and delightful atmosphere. The character that I found interesting was Max played by Matt Bolden because he had to use various parts of his voice through the production. Throughout the whole show Bolden had good breath support, you could tell because you could understand what he was saying.…

Since the castrati had such a distinct voice, it is difficult to say what voice type is needed for the role. Sesto’s character from La Clemenzo di Tito, sings two main arias, Parto,Parto and Deh, Per Questo Istante solo. Both of these arias are difficult to sing and require stamina and power that is not found in a countertenor or light soprano. In modern productions, these roles are typically sung by very strong and dramatic mezzo-sopranos such as Elīna Garanča. In the operas they are typically dressed like men and portray very masculine behavior to portray a castrati as closely as possible.…

L’arpeggiata Ensemble’s rendition of the piece uses many period instruments, but does not follow the written score by using that many instruments and is transposed up for a female alto vocal range to accommodate for the alto and countertenor singing the vocal lines. Also, the musicians within the recording utilize vibrato; while tastefully done on period instruments, Baroque era style of playing does not include vibrato as it was seen as unnatural, so vibrato (especially seen in the violin player) is inaccurate to a HIP. However, the use of harpsichord and viola da gamba would have been appropriate for the time period, as cellos and pianos had not developed…

On January 31, 2016, I attended a classical musical concert performed by Chanticleer. The concert was held in the Halton Theater at Central Piedmont Community College. The audience was dressed very casually and most of the people were elderly. This was the first classical concert I have attended, I choose to write about this concert because it’s the one that I liked the most if I had to choose between all the concert that I attended. Chanticleer is a male classical vocal a cappella ensemble comprises twelve men, that include two basses, one baritone, three tenors, and six countertenors (three altos and three sopranos). They mostly know about their interpretations of Renaissance music, but it also performs a wide repertoire of jazz, gospel,…
