Veterans struggle everyday to get through menial tasks that, by most people, can be done with ease. The organization, Pets for Vets, should be funded because it helps veterans get over these everyday problems, especially Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) . Abused pets are often used and trained to assist veterans because it helps deal with their problems such as PTSD, loss of limbs, and other numerous psychological problems. This also gives abused pets a happy home. The veterans with pets are joyous and much more calm! These pets help these problems in a huge way, allowing some veterans to even get over their disorders.
Soldiers who serve in the military deploy and have countless traumatic encounters, including close friends dying constantly, which leave scars. The question being asked of me is “Why Veterans are Important to Our Nation’s History and Future?” Veterans are important to me because I live with two of them and I have a lot of them in my family. Without them, I wouldn’t know the reason why we have people sacrificing themselves for our country. My Grandpa, Roy Noble, always said that “War is not good but fighting for our country is,” I didn’t really understand that until I realized without them we wouldn’t have a free country. Britain would have taken over and we would have a queen instead of a president, or something like that.…

Veteran: a person who has served in the military. That’s the definition that Google gives you when you type it in, but to me a veteran is more than that. I come from a military family. Words like loyalty and respect are commonly used in my home especially when it comes to describing my father and my grandfather, both veterans who have given up their time to serve this nation. Due to my father serving overseas, I know how it feels to wake up in the morning, walk down the hall, and expect to see a warm smile welcoming you to the kitchen, but instead find that it is not there.…

The Effects of War on Veterans in Afghanistan and Iraq More than half of the 2.6 million Americans dispatched to fight the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq struggle with physical or mental health problems and often begin to feel disconnected from civilian life, deriving from deployment. As stated in the article “After the Wars: A legacy of pain and pride”, written by Rajiv Chandrasekaran and published by The Washington Post. The conditions of being deployed and serving for our country can conclude in widespread consequences within soldiers in which if no help is provided, could become permanently detrimental. What a veteran means to me. The dictionary definition of a veteran is, a person who has has long experience in a particular field of the military, or a person who has served in the military. Federally, a veteran is someone who has served in ANY war, in ANY branch of military for ANY length of time. If you served in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps or Navy you are considered a veteran. I believe that someone who can fight for strangers , people they don't even know, along with their own family even if they only served for a week, a year, twelve years, deserves more respect than anyone.…

Rather than twisting off a cap of a prescription bottle and downing a pill or two with a swig of water, a rather unique form of treatment for mental illnesses is the use of emotional support animals (ESA for short). Contrary to service animals, an emotional support animal is not trained for a specific task other than providing comfort to someone suffering from a mental illness. ESAs have no restrictions on the breed or species of animal and can range from dogs to cats and even reptiles. Emotional support animals are normally the person’s pet before they are registered and therefore are hard to distinguish from other pets. While there is some controversy for the use of emotional support animals, consistent results from research and studies suggests…
