Values, Ethics And Morals In Counselling

Values, Ethics and Morals, all 3 are linked up to administrating behavioural rules. It may seem similar to one another, but the differences can be on the outcome when influencing others. Starting off with values, it’s the decision making between the right and wrong. It allows us to prioritize from the most important to the least important in our lives. It allows to make a concrete decision and not dangle in unsureness. Morals are better known among the societies in comparison to values and better understood and agreed with as well. Taking that into consideration, people have the tenancy to judge others mostly based on their morals than values. Number three is review the relevant ethic codes- which is to make sure that the organization linked to counselling such as American Counseling Association has an answer for the problem and abide the rules and regulations. Number four is know the applicable laws and regulations-it is necessary to be knowledgeable about the laws and regulations associated with counselling, this comes very much handy in several situations such as record keeping, abuse and etc. Number five is obtain consultation- it is always better to get opinions about the issue from the people working on the same field but better to get it from those who have higher chance of seeing the problem from a different point of view; which in a way, help the …show more content…
This doctor was convicted for 2 offences. 1st offence was causing hurt to a police officer on duty and the 2nd offence was that he was selling codeine and promethazine without a license. In this case the ethical dilemma
