Not all roads lead to heaven, but Vallone’s, on Gessner Road in Houston, Texas will definitely lead you to a most euphoric experience that is compatibly close. Under the ownership and direction of a local, legendary chef, Vallone’s has earned notoriety as one of Houston’s newest, most high-acclaimed restaurants. Patrons, as well as various, local news outlets such as The Houston Chronicle, Houston Press, and Houstonia magazine have all made this assertion. There are many variables that determine the star rating of a restaurant. The ability to deliver excellence to each of these variables is challenging for some establishments, yet standard practice to others. The most captivating, decorative feature is the two-story, glass-shelved wine wall to the left, right inside the entry. This feature reflects Vallone’s modern art sensibility and appears to be a great conversation piece among fellow patrons that are waiting to be seated. Sitting at any table, patrons have a wonderful view of the large, gas fireplace that provides a warm, illuminating glow that arouses intimacy and romance. The instrumental music that plays at conversational levels is yet another ascription to intimacy. The ambiance is formally casual, yet casually lavish. The service at Vallone’s may began great but end terribly. The servers are very informative, attentive, and efficient. Their ability to service several tables and still manage to make each party feel like their only customers is commendable. They seem very delighted to answer any and all questions regarding menu items. On occasion, they may even make suggestions on items that will offset supplemental cost and still result in a very gratifying dining experience. Management on the other hand, can be very erratic and impolite when addressing ticket discrepancies or customer complaints. This type of restaurant comes with a high expectancy of extraordinary service and conduct.
