The story is written as a metaphor for the Russian Revolution, while the main events are real and they directly relate to the Russian Revolution. There is a significant bias present as well. Throughout the novella, George Orwell uses propaganda. Propaganda was also used very often during the Russian Revolution; it was used to have the favour of the people towards the revolution. While bias isn't always easy to control when it comes to writing, hiding it is used throughout many different stories. However, bias within "Animal Farm" is not at all left a mystery, and has a very strong impact on the way the Russian Revolution and its' leaders are potrayed.
