The urinary system is how the body gets rid of waste and extra fluid (MedlinePlus, 2018). The body parts that are included in the urinary system, are the two kidneys, two ureters, bladder and the urethra. Women are more likely to get urinary tract infection (UTI), then men (MedlinePlus, 2018). The risk factors for women getting UTI are changes in their hormone level, getting old, menopause, using spermicide, diaphragm, new sexual partner, or family history (Kidney Health Australia, 2018). What makes women more prone to UTI than men is because the urethra in women is shorter than in men, which allows bacteria easy access to the bladder (National Institute of Health, 2018).
