The Armistice concluded the Korean War, which left the Korean Peninsula divided into two countries, North Korea and South Korea (Millett 1). The Korean War developed the start of the Cold War. It raised tension between the US and the Soviet Union, by supporting South Korea, the US was able to fight Communism without directly attacking the Soviet Union (Saper 1). Today, the US and Canada are facing threat from North Korea, with their testing of nuclear weapons and missile programs. The tension between the US and North Korea may start World War 3 (Michaels 1).
