The Korean War began at 4:30 AM on June 25th, 1950, and ended on July
27th, 1953. There are still more than 7 000 US soldiers missing in action from the war. A North Korean Film called Unsung Heroes (1978) glorifies members of the North Korean military while depicting crimes by South Korea and the US. In its cast were several US soldiers who had defected to North Korea. The Korean War was a conflict between the democratic South Korea and communist North Korea, regarding the events of Japan’s surrender, the war, and the aftermath.
Subsequent to the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan surrenders, and the US and the Soviet Union invades Korea, political differences between the two raise conflict, and divide the Korean Peninsula. The Armistice concluded the Korean War, which left the Korean Peninsula divided into two countries, North Korea and South Korea (Millett 1). The Korean War developed the start of the Cold War. It raised tension between the US and the Soviet Union, by supporting South Korea, the US was able to fight Communism without directly attacking the Soviet Union (Saper 1). Today, the US and Canada are facing threat from North Korea, with their testing of nuclear weapons and missile programs. The tension between the US and North Korea may start World War 3 (Michaels 1).
