The Role Of Unrecognizable Society In Ayn Rand's Anthem

A New, Unrecognizable Society Imagine a society and a city where rules are so strict that everyday is the exact same. Everyone's the same. Everything is the same. Everyone and everything relies on equality to live their everyday to day life. In the book “Anthem” by Ayn Rand, Equality 7-2521 envisions his own perfect world without the cities control. Will he include the society he grew up in within the society he envisions? The city seems to rely on these rules and regulations to make sure no one will be individualized. Where the things you live for will be chosen for you. You are not able to live your life without it being chosen for you. You must think the citizens of the city would get tired of everything being the same, for the rest of your life. Equality 7-2521 isn't very fond of the way society is. He describes her as “straight and thin as a blade of iron”, “no fear” in her eyes, and hair as “golden as the sun.”(pg. 38-39) He gives her a name within his thoughts known as “The Golden One” but it is a sin to give men names in which they distinguish them from one another. But, he decides to give her a name for she is not like the others. She exchanges him with the name “The Unconquered One.” They also exchange intimacy by touching one another. They aren’t able to touch one another unless they go to the Palace of Mating where sex and intimacy is chosen for you, but they fall in love with one another, She also follows him into the Uncharted Forest because she wants just as much damnation as she does and wants to follow him wherever she goes. She wants to tell him she loves him but not by using the word we, but by using the word “I” but doesn’t know how to use the word
