Like every other developed country, Japan too has evolved in respect to national insurance. On facing challenges of aging population and economy, Japan’s universal health insurance called Kaihoken, Japan too underwent reform with advanced medicine having coverage only for specified care. When compared with the United States utilization of advanced technology in healthcare, Japan has well developed technology available at a lower cost, one of the issues that United States has yet to address. Just like Canada, UK separates health insurance from employment. The national health services funding comes from taxes but also has private insurance companies that sell health insurance for services. (Bodenheimer, 2012) The gatekeeper system which is the identity of healthcare system in UK, seems a restricted approach when compared to the United States idea of access to specialized medicinal providers.
