Unity Of Command Analysis

Being in the Air Force and being apart of something much bigger than myself. I can see all 14 Principles of Management by Henri Fayol being implemented in everyday work. The three that stand out most to me are Authority and Responsibility, Discipline, and Unity of Command. Authority and Responsibility in the military comes is determined by what rank you are. The higher the rank, the more authority you have, which in turn means the more responsibility you will have. Authority and responsibility works hand and hand with Unity of Command. We receive all of our orders from commanders. Their messages and request are then relayed down the chain of command, and will eventually work its way to the lowest ranking individual. Having this chain of command is very important because at the end of the day, we (the many different squadrons at a base) work together to complete the ultimate mission and goal of the base, Unity of direction. Each squadron down to each individual person, all play a vital role and piece in a giant puzzle to complete the misson. …show more content…
As airman we are taught and trained, very early in our careers to have respect for rank, and the ultimate mission of the Air Force. Disregarding the rules and standards set in place, there comes disciple. Depending on the severity of the act, dictates the punishment. Without having each individual, from the highest ranking commander to the lowest enlisted ranking the goal and the mission will not be met. Without having the different standards in places, set by command and the commanders, there will be no discipline. Henri Fayol’s 14 Principles of Management, are very important in making a business or military establishment
