The Uniform crime reporting is a system where field officers and the other investigating bodies concerned with crime presents data from their investigations to the FBI. The FBI compiles all reports on that crime and compiles a comprehensive report that find the gaps in the data, the effectiveness of the report and other aspects, providing a statistical measure of accuracy. The national Crime Victimization Survey has a purpose of collecting facts about a criminal case, whether reported or not, and evaluates the facts of the case statistically, and requiring to know why the case was reported or not reported.
