How Unhealthy Lifestyles Affect People's Health

The majority of the people in America are not aware that unhealthiness and obesity are greatly increasing globally, yet at a much fast rate in the United States, which has the highest amount of obesity, suicidal deaths, cancer sufferers, and the lowest average lifespan age. Why is this? The average American’s habits and choices are unnatural and unhealthy. A contributing factor in an unhealthy lifestyle is the lack of exercise; not exercising can cause bones to weaken, metabolism to slow down, gallbladder problems, and heart disease, according to Kristin Davis on September 2017. It is believed that diet and exercise are the main contributing factors to health. It is so important to be aware of lifestyle habits, and to avoid these negative life traumas in order to feel good mentally and physically. This paper will explain the causes of how people may end up with an unhealthy lifestyle, the negative effects an unhealthy lifestyle has on people, the positive effects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and solutions to maintain a healthy life. For example, according to Dr. Axe, he states, “Americans are not getting enough essential nutrients, fiber, and natural fats that help our bodies prevent disease.” and “Many Americans choose convenience over health. Fast-food restaurants and convenience foods continue to make up a significant and unhealthy proportion of our American diet.” This supports the idea that the U.S.’s obesity rate is reaching epidemic proportions. As a result, the rate of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer continues to rise. It is proven that the foods people consume is one of the main reasons to an unhealthy lifestyle, but there are many other factors that also impact the cause of harmful
