Understand The Causes Of Autism

Due to the rise in the number of children who are autistic, it is important that all members of the community understand the effects of autism. Knowing the causes, symptoms and treatment of autism will help parents and the communities identify autistic children. Autism is a mental condition, present from early childhood, characterized by difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with other people. According to the autism society, as of July 2015 there is no known single cause for autism spectrum disorder, but it is known that autism is a rare gene that causes and abnormalities in brain structure and function. Autism figures are growing; it is the fastest growing development disorders in the U.S. Boys are nearly 5 times more likely to have autism then girls. While there is no cure for autism, people can educate themselves about autism, the more people know about autism the better they can help a child that is suffering from the disorder. Parents have to be involved in developing a child’s education, and developed an individual education plan, or IEP from the time their children enter grade school to graduation. In many families, there appears to be a pattern of autism or related disabilities, further supporting the theory that the disorder has a genetic basis. While not one gene has been identified as causing autism, researchers are searching for irregulars segments of genetic code that children and adults with autism may have
