1. When Louie, Phil and Mac were on the raft, a key factor in their survival was optimism. All three men were young and able-bodied, veterans of the same training, experiencing the same hardships and traumas, yet Louie and Phil remained optimistic while Mac was hopeless, seemingly doomed by his pessimism. 2. Over 47 days on the raft, the men lost half their body weight, and were rendered mere skeletons. Yet they refused to consider cannibalism, which had not been uncommon among castaways before them. Would you, in the same situation, ever consider cannibalism? If it could ensure that two men survived, when otherwise all three would almost certainly perish, would it be a moral decision?
I personally would not consider cannibalism right now but if i were in a situation where it would be the only way to survive i wouldn't know if id consider it. But I would think that if the moment came to the question of eating a person I would try to find any other option than eating a person i would make it my last resort to eat a person if even that. In my opinion eating someone is immoral even if the person already died and even if it was the only way to survive but there could also be other options I don't think eating your friend is the right thing or even someone who has gone through so much with you (parallel
