Ugc Reflection

When I came to the PGC 11 years ago in pre-school, I had no idea what great friends I would make the fun memories with them. The many years at the PGC were fun and unforgettable. Like when we used to play all day long and had snack time. When we made a little village out of milk cartons and all the fun field trips we went on. But the main thing I enjoyed was our buddies at the UGC. The buddies taught me important things you needed to know at the UGC like how much homework you had and what the teachers were like. I always looked forward to being in the UGC. When fly up day came around, I could not wait to be in fourth grade. The UGC taught me important lessons needed in life ahead. Like friendship, responsibilities, and teamwork. The teachers

In the last five years, I have worked as a CNA, an LVN at a nursing home and clinic, and an RN in the CVICU. All of these experiences have greatly contributed to my solid nursing foundation. As a CNA, I enjoyed the direct interaction and knowing my patients on a personal level. As an LVN, I handled up to 35 patients while supervising the CNAs. I also performed wound care for up to 100 patients when I worked as a Wound Care Nurse.…

Well it has been almost 4 months that I have been attending Roanoke Valley Early College. I love it here and I don’t see how anyone couldn’t. So far I have learned a lot about school. By taking time to observe my surroundings and everyone around me, I have learned that everyone in high school is not your friend and that I am learning how to sense a bad vibe before I let anyone get too close to me. RVEC is the only school that has taught me that all teachers are not these people that hate their job because the teachers here including the ones I don’t take yet are always showing us that they really want to be there and help us and teach us.…

“My Day at the FGCU Campus” Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) offers many things besides just schooling. They offer a sustainable way of life and allow its students to become one with nature. Some highlights within the campus are a wide variety of ecosystems including the Food Forest, nature trails, and lakes. My favorite sustainable feature that FGCU offers is the Food Forest.…

At the beginning of the year, Professor Fama told the Pre-Calculus class that our senior year would go by more quickly than any other year of our lives. I think now every member of the class of 2017 can attest to just how true this statement was. I know it sounds cliché, but it really does seem like just yesterday we were organizing homecoming, planning our senior trip, fund raising for our senior trip, finally going on our senior trip, decorating for prom, and enjoying our last Crusader Day, or, as we like to call it, Crudader Day. While it is the fun memories like those I just mentioned that tend to stick out in our minds, I think it is important that we also acknowledge the stuff that maybe wasn't so fun; the days we were swamped with homework, cramming for tests, finishing projects at the last minute, the time spent in classes that maybe weren't our favorite, the stress and hard work that went into planning some of our excursions, and all the other frustrations that tested us throughout the year. Whether we realized it in the moment or not, these struggles we faced were teaching us lessons just as valuable as what we were learning in academic classes; lessons about leadership, perseverance, the value of hard work, and, perhaps most importantly, teamwork.…

My field observations took place at Renaissance Charter School at Central Palm. I honestly had a wonderful experience and I really enjoyed my time there. I was assigned to Ms. Pickholtz’s 1st grade class. When I first arrived to the charter school I was extremely nervous and a little anxious because just the thought of actually helping a teacher run a class seemed scary to me because I felt like I would do a horrible job at it. However, I was welcomed by both the teacher and the class…

Being born to and raised by immigrant parents, I observed a daily desire to give me all that they didn’t have and provide pathways for me to follow my dreams. I gained a respect for hard work as well as an ideology of looking out for those around me. The sacrifices they took to send me to private school and ensure that I do well in life motivates me in my plans for the future. It is their inability to live their lives as they pleased and follow their dreams that inspires me to attend and graduate from an institution in which all those attending strive in their fields of study. Due to their dedication, I want to succeed in life and provide a better life for both myself and my family, allowing them to live the rest of their lives without worry, as well as making a difference in the world around me.…

Why should I be selected as Homecoming Queen? It is funny that you asked. This is a question that I have asked myself since freshman year when I saw my first UNCG Homecoming. In America, we enjoy many freedoms: liberty, life, and the pursuit of happiness; these freedoms are often taken for granted by Americans. Many do not realize that these freedoms did not come with ease, nor do they remain without someone to protect them. I want to do my part to protect all freedoms that Americans have. America is truly the best country because of the freedoms we grant to every citizen; without these fundamental ideas, America would not be what it is today. Attending the Naval Academy would allow me to protect the freedoms of Americans and to become the best person I can be.…

    St. Bernard Reflection

My time at St. Bernard has taught me many skills that I will use both in college and throughout the rest of my life. I would like to believe that I am a very different person from the frightened fourteen year old I came to St. Bernard as four years ago- smarter, more adaptable, more accepting, more critical of myself and others. It is hard to say how much of the change can be directly credited to St. Bernard, but the growing up and learning I have done has mostly taken place here, both inside and outside of the classroom. You can grow older and more mature anywhere, but there is something about St. Bernard that makes it special, something unique in the classes, the campus, and the atmosphere. Four years is a long time, but now, at the end of them,…
