Type 1 Diabetes Diary

This disease diary is going to be about the disease “Diabetes”. Diabetes has many different types and they can affect the human endocrine system in many ways. Diabetes is a group of diseases that affect how your body uses sugar (glucose). Glucose is your body and brains main source of energy and it is very important to the endocrine system. Without glucose, your system will not function right. No matter what type of diabetes you have, that means your body has too much glucose. There is Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, Prediabetes, and gestational diabetes (occurs during pregnancy). Type 2 diabetes is when your cells become resistant to the action of insulin, and your pancreas is unable to make enough insulin to overcome this resistance. Instead of moving into your cells where it's needed for energy, sugar builds up in your bloodstream. Scientist and doctors don’t really know why this happens. Sometimes the pancreas can’t produce enough insulin or it produces too much. Risk factors of diabetes is Family history, environmental factors (exposure to viral illness), Dietary Factors (lack of vitamin D, or eating certain cereals before the age of 4). Risk factors for type 2 diabetes can be your weight, inactivity, family history, Race, Age, High blood pressure, or abnormal cholesterol levels. Diagnosis include Random blood sugar test, Glycated Hemoglobin, Fasting blood sugar test, Oral glucose tolerance test, and other test. These are test that doctors use to test your insulin and glucose levels. Most of these test include blood drawing from the body. The doctors will take your blood and go test it to make sure you have enough insulin or glucose and not too
