Education- The Tuscaloosa County School System includes 34 schools: two primary schools, seventeen elementary schools, eight middle schools, six high schools, and one center for special needs students. Outside of this system, the county has four additional privately funded schools. A community college, a liberal arts college, and a university also reside in Tuscaloosa County. Safety and Transportation- Tuscaloosa and the surrounding cities that make up Tuscaloosa County all have their own police force. The county also has a Veterans’ Affairs office for those who have served in the military. For the rest of the community, the Druid City Hospital system cares for patients from the surrounding areas from its Northport and Tuscaloosa facilities. Bryce hospital is also located in Tuscaloosa, which is one of the state’s leading mental health hospitals. Aside from these major facilities, the county also provides numerous easily accessible urgent care clinics and pharmacies.
