For example, the tourism industry immensely contributes to the U.S economy. In 2015, foreign tourists spent about $199 billion in the U.S, which made up 9% of U.S exports in 2015 (“Correction: Trump-Immigration-Economic Impact Story”). However, there has been little growth in travel and tourism since the record level in 2015 (“Correction: Trump-Immigration-Economic Impact Story”). Trump’s immigration policy will only further hurt the growth of travel and tourism because many people, specifically those from countries listed on the ban, feel unwelcomed in the U.S. Also, many people do not want to be amidst the chaos resulting from Trump’s immigration policy and proposals. In 2016, there were 309,658 visits made in the U.S by Africans, which is a 3.7% increase since 2015 (“International Arrivals- 2012 Year-To-Date Analysis”). Nonetheless, this is expected to decrease in 2017 since Trump’s ban targets many African countries making many Africans feel unwelcome in the U.S. If this occurs, then there will be a decrease in the contributions the tourism industry makes to the economy. Ultimately, if there are fewer tourists from Africa in the U.S during 2017, then the percentage of exports that travel and tourism make up is expected to decrease hurting the economy. Several aid groups are preventing their employees from traveling to the countries listed on the ban due to scrutiny for traveling and ambiguity in the order (Gharib). Also, humanitarian aid workers that hold citizenship in the countries listed on the ban cannot travel back to the U.S and the executive order can “cause other countries to place bans on U.S workers” (Gharib). Somalia, which is one of the countries listed on the ban, will be significantly impacted if humanitarian aid workers are not able to provide aid. Unicef has predicted that 850,000 children will be malnourished in Somalia in 2017, so it is crucial that humanitarian aid workers provide help to Somali children (Goldman). However, there is a possibility that many of these children will not receive aid if Trump’s ban is successfully appealed. According to recent statistics, “nearly 60 million people worldwide are currently displaced from their homes”, so the work of humanitarian aid workers is more important than ever (“Refugee Crisis: Should Europe and the United States accept more refugees from the Middle East and Africa?”). The U.S has a moral obligation to help these people since many are fleeing violence and cannot help themselves. For example, many Somalis have fled their country to escape violence from the terror group called Al-Shahab (Gaffey). These Somalis are in need
