Tropical Fruits Tropical fruit is any type of fruit produced in tree that is native to the tropics. The tropics are usually as the region and area of the globe that is between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. Tropical region has unique environmental conditions and therefore creates a habitat that is usually for diverse species of fauna and flora. Many tropical fruits are mostly used and consumed by humans, and certain fruits are widely known where its demands are high. (Site) There are several unique facts on tropical fruits. The conditions that they have in the tropics are unique, since there are stages within the canopy, and there are various plants that only grow in a particular place and specific place. Mangoes, papayas, avocados, bananas, pineapples, and etc. are some fruits that people are familiar with. Moreover, banana is one of the most selling fruit all around the world. This is because of their availability to the market. (Site) They are able to harvest the whole year due to tropics consistent weather and climate. While there are widely known fruits, there are several of fruits are distanced from people. It is because they are unable to reach these types of fruits that often. Examples include jackfruit, durian, lychee, rambutan, mangosteen and some more. These types of fruit are sometimes very fragile, and difficult to cultivate. People are different from animals so it is a complementary element that humans need to have. (Vitamin) Vitamin C is needed for the biosynthesis of collagen and is involved in the metabolism of protein. Collagen too is an essential component where it plays an important role in healing wounds. There are still research going on in seeing whether it will help prevent or postpone the growth of cancers, heart diseases and other sicknesses. In addition to their biosynthetic and antioxidant functions and purposes, it plays a very significant role within the immune function. (Vitamin) When there is insufficient intake of Vitamin C, it will be characterized as a fatigue, connective tissue weakness and etc. Because of its function of being an antioxidant and the role as being immune, Vitamin C has been supported in being helpful in preventing and treating various health conditions. There are four diseases that Vitamin C take and play a role; cancer, cardiovascular diseases, age-related macular degeneration and cataracts and lastly usual cold.
