Tropical Andes
The Tropical Andes is located from western Venezuela to northern Argentina and Chile with a span of 1,542,644 km² and also include parts of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and portions of the Andes Mountains. The hotspots extends 1000 meters down where it borders the Tumbes-Chocó-Magdalena Hotspot in the west. One of the reasons that the Tropical Andes has such a diverse group of species is because it contains mountain snowcapped peaks, steep slopes, isolated valleys, and canyons that are able to create diversity of microhabitats which homes many different species. The Andes not only hold the largest navigable Lake Titicaca located 3,810 meters between Bolivia and Peru on Altiplano, but it also contains Cañón del Colca which is 3,223 meters deep making it the largest

The elevation of the land has a huge impact on the weather and the areas that are great for vegetation. There is rain, snow, and sunshine all within the Tropical Andes. U.S. Fish and Wildlife International Affairs of South America (USFWS) was awarded $614,938 as wells as $933,279 in matching funds in 2015 to fund ten projects throughout the region such as implementing and integrated biophysical and social systems for conservation. This organization seeks to reduce human conflict, illegal trafficking of animals, wild life pet trade, and unsustainable land use. With the help of strategic partnership with local institutions, civil society, and decision makes the USFWS plan to achieve long lasting conservation results. I am glad that I did decide to choose this hotspot because I was able to learn so much from my research that I was unaware of. I would have never thought that the Tropical Andes contains 5% of the vascular plant and the most diverse amphibian species in the world. The Tropical Andes plays an important role in our world and wildlife. I believe that every hotspot around the world is important and we have to do everything that we can in order to protect these
