One of the many causes of World War Two was the Treaty of Versailles. This treaty was written on June 28th, 1919 and cause a large amount of problems for Germany which likely lead to the beginning of World War Two. The treaty made Germany have to accept the war debt which made Germany very mad. There were a lot of conditions in the treaty that Germany had to accept such as,

Since Hitler was in the German army in the First World War and Germany was blamed for starting the war, he was outraged. For years he tried thinking of a solution to the punishments that Germany was given. Because of the amount of punishment Germany got, the people would happily elect anyone who could certify the elimination of the treaty’s punishment. In 1933 Hitler was elected as the Chancellor of Germany. If the treaty was not so harsh on Germany, Hitler would not have felt so strongly that he had to try and stop it which means Hitler would not have been elected which means all of Hitler’s plans and military actions wouldn’t have even been done so war would not have begun.
Appeasement was a procedure mainly used by Britain in the 1930s which tried to settle the arguments and disagreements of different country leaders by pleasing them with negotiation and co-operation. A good example of appeasement is the agreement amongst Chamberlain and Hitler in the build up to World War Two. Also, the league had no power as the only thing they could do was to ask countries to stop trading with the hostile country but this didn’t work as they could still trade with non-member countries and countries were afraid to trading partners. Finally, the league was unable to act quickly as they only met four times a year and when the league was called upon for help, they had to make an emergency meeting to have discussion and get agreement of all members. This procedure meant they couldn’t act fast to anything. These are the reasons that the League of Nations assisted in the beginning of the Second World
