Whenever I think of traveling it’s like the sun came up. I get all excited and giddy and can’t wait to start browsing the net for information and then start day-dreaming about what I’d do there, where I’d go and what I’d eat.
And when the moment of departure arrives I just forget all about those plans and dreams and start living the moment. I choose to go with the flow and that has gotten me in some very nice places so far; emotionally and physically speaking.
When I first started I used to have an unhealthy approach on how to travel. First of all I would travel heavy and I would plan every single step in that trip. But guess what? It only lasted for two getaways until I realized I was doing it wrong.
After that, my only goal was to travel

2. Traveling sharpens your mind and develops skills you were not aware you had.
Have you ever had to climb a mountain and thought you couldn’t do it? And you started off on a slow pace and in a few hours you were on top of it? Well that is one amazing skill you had and you were not aware of it.
Life in the city can be pretty boring sometimes, not too much walking, not too much climbing either. But when you go on a trip, it’s like you go back to those instinctive set of skills that helped humans survive for so long.
There’s an immense satisfaction when you get to conquer that mountain, cross a river or even helping some native carry water or clean up after a heavy rain. Your mind works hard to find the safest ways to help you achieve your goals. And once an idea went through your mind you will have won another new perspective on life and a skill to help you thrive from here on after.

5. Traveling makes you even more ambitious.
Have you ever noticed how well you manage in procuring the things you most need and want? Well the same goes for traveling. If you make it a priority every single action you do will take you there. A priority means that you will do anything it takes to get there and if you’re dream is to see the world or just visit certain places, you can do it.
All you need is a strong will. Making your dream come true will always depend on you so don’t be afraid to take the first step towards it.
6. Traveling is the way to experience the time of your life.
Everybody’s looking for adventure. Without its thrill life would be really very boring. But when you travel adventure is the main course of the day. You never know what’s going to happen next or where your feet will take you, and each new direction you’re heading to will come with a new

There are different types of traveling. We travel for vacationing and sight seeing, we travel because we want to get away from our daily routine, we travel to see our loved ones, to escape cold weather, to escape war and tyrant rulers, to look for a better life. Bedouin in the desert travel looking for water to sustain themselves and their livestock. In the two essays I’ve read “Summerland” written by Peter Jon Lindberg, and “A Prison, A Paradise” by John Jeremiah Sullivan.…

People who travel at an early age do succeed in their schooling and jobs. Rather than taking away from time when they could be studying, traveling provides a different sort of education for students and young adults, proving to give them a boost when they look for jobs. Author of, “How Millennials are Changing Travel,” Amanda Machado, states that, “My travels helped me obtain a summer job with Global Glimpse, an organization that takes disadvantaged students on educational trips through Nicaragua” (Machado). For Amanda, traveling secured her a paying job for the next stage of her life. Through the experiences she gained while traveling, she learned and grew as a person enough to be ready for a career in…

Science and a traveling mindset are compatible with each other and share some qualities. Alain de Botton in his essay “On Habit,” presents the concept of a traveling mindset. A traveling mindset means seeing everyday places like a great opportunity for adventure. De Botton argues that by paying attention to the details around, people can fight against the boredom of their routine. Also habituation can be reversed by developing a traveling mindset because it helps discovering how things really look and work.…

As the New Year lurks around the corner, I often go to sleep wondering what opportunities might come my way in 2013. Maybe I’ll mend my ways and end up saving a fortune for a trip I’ve (secretly) been dreaming about. Or maybe, I’ll be tempted to spend what I’ve saved every now and then, and land myself in adventures I had never imagined, like I did in 2012. Maybe some unexpected press invites or sponsorships will come my way, or that mysterious uncle will finally appear and leave me a handsome inheritance! I hope Santa knows I’ve been a good girl *looks innocently* I know, only too well, that these are much too ambitious dreams for a single year, but as the Spanish would say, soñar no cuesta nada, to dream costs nothing.…

Marathon runners got nothing on long haul air travelers. At least runners can stop and take a breather along the way. If things get too bad, a runner can quit and go home. When you are on an airplane ride that is supposed to last 15 hours, there's no way to stop and take a breather. There's no way to quit and go home.…

Traveling is something that I do quite often. From March to November I am on the go, following my boyfriend, Jake, as he races his sprint car across the country. This means a lot of different states, a lot of miles traveled, and a lot of memories made. Although we usually take the road when traveling from track to track, flying has become a popular option for us as well. The racing industry is very by the moment, so you have to be ready for anything.…

Overall, this trip was a great opportunity for all of us to experience something new and exciting. Costa Rica Essay I have always liked to travel whether going on long car rides up the coast of California or riding in a train across the United States. My family raised me to be spontaneous and try new experiences. On the weekends we went on little “adventures” where early in the morning (sometimes my parents would wake me up at 4 in the morning) we would all climb into the car, Huddling in our blankets, we all found a comfortable spot in the freezing van using the arm rest and pillows to make a make-shift beds.…
