In all of the documents, there are different things that are written on each and every one of them, but the one thing that they have in common is that each event lead to the spread of Islam. In the first document which was document A, the paragraph mostly talks about the war of the Muslims and the Greeks. According to the text, “The battle that they fought at the al-Yarmuk was one of the fiercest and bloodiest kinds. In this battle 24,000 Muslims took part. By Allah’s help, some 70,000 of them [the Greeks] were put to death.”…

The Muslims had many achievements due to the fact that they were much inspired from Greece, Rome and India. They also took up a lot from the people whose lands they took over. How the Muslims got to those achievements they made and how they impacted the world to even this day is what we discovered.…
“Islam: the religion that spread far and wide” The Islamic civilization originated in the Arabian peninsula, and spread quickly to Europe and parts of North Africa. Nearby countries that did not follow Islam were rapidly conquered. While the Islamic civilization spread as an extensive empire using different methods, it did so in a way that violated people’s beliefs. Politics and warfare were used as methods of convincing others to follow the faith. Furthermore, cultural depictions through art and decorations were also used to gain more followers of Islam.…
According to a book written by Piero Scaruffi (2011), titled “History of Knowledge”, basically knowledge begins when the earliest civilizations appear in Mesopotamia, Egypt, India and China, they are largely restrained by their natural environment and the climate. Religion, Science and the Arts is largely determined by additional factors-human, such as the seasons and flooding. Throughout centuries, humans have succeeded in changing the equation in their favor, reducing the impact of natural events on their civilization and enhance the effect of their civilization in nature for better and for worse. How this happened is pretty much the history of knowledge. Knowledge first of all has been a tool to be the “subject” changes, compared with the…
As Arabs were travelers and tradesmen they carried their ideas, inventions and enormous amounts of freights to where ever they travelled to. They got the idea from India, China, Ancient Egypt etc. Some say the knowledge gap was occurred due to deliberate conspiracies. This was mainly because they never wanted their offspring to know what Muslims have contributed to their advancement and just wanted to show the European superiority. After the industrialization, secularization started to exist in Europe.…

James Joyce’s “Araby” is a narrative about a boy who realizes how the world around him differentiates compared to how he wishes to perceive it. The tale is full of lightness and darkness as the author expresses. James describes how the boy is an innocent child, who then falls for a girl, Mangan’s sister; thus turning him into darkness. The boy tells the girl that he will bring her a gift from the bazaar since she cannot attend. However, the boy arrives when Araby is closing so he does not get a chance to get her something; thus, he becomes upset.…

Having and sharing knowledge is generally regarded as a basis for improving one’s reputation and thus power. In this modern sense, knowledge seems to be a positive notion that improves quality of life, but in fact through the study of biblical text it is clear that the acquisition of knowledge has not always brought positive results. In the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve were the first people to recognize that the result of knowledge is harmful and so is the “power” it brings. The consequence of knowing is not power; knowledge is a damaging force that is not all good like the modern western world believes, but rather it creates fear, weakness and makes life more difficult.…
In Al-Ghazzali’s text, Deliverance from Error, ideas of knowledge and ways to understand knowledge are brought to attention. Questions are asked if what we know is actually knowledge and is it truthful. Are the ways we search and comprehend knowledge the same way other people do, and which way is right? Defining knowledge is up to each person individually, but in this specific text, Al-Ghazzali explains his personal journey into defining knowledge. The ways groups of people seek knowledge are dependent on views of how they judge information.…
There were contributions to the evolution of western civilization. Aristotle influenced so much more than a few books and teachings. He was a coined a philosopher. This premise is also reinforced by another remark again found in Islamic Art &Architecture which states “Islam was revealed to the prophet Muhamad in western Arabia in the early 7th Century. Later historiography defined this period as a “time of ignorance” (the Jahiliya), in the primary sense a spiritually unenlightened period, but also as a time of relatively limited cultural achievement.” (35). Some would say that this point set in stone for the next several thousand years the inability to further study and develop the Muslim artistic lineage, thus stunting their societal growth and progression of modern ideas and technologies that would later generate in Western and Asiatic civilization. The European, Mediterranean, and Asiatic world continued to move forward with the artistic process which would lead to the industrial revolution, which would lay the foundation for the western world and Asia…
