Hiccup is good hearted, he tries to help Toothless and the other dragons, much like Prometheus giving fire to humans. When both characters helped the weak they defied the one in charge. In How to Train your Dragon, Hiccup defies his father, who is the Chief of Burke and in the Prometheus myth, Prometheus defies Zeus. While both had good intentions, they both knew that they were going to get in trouble when the person in charge found out. They also knew that without doing these things the weak would not survive or prosper. Hiccup without knowing it created a new future for Burke and the dragons. I will say the unlike the Prometheus myth, how to train your Dragon does not have a terrible ending, no torture or plague. I also question if I could relate Prometheus individuality to Toothless. Toothless was attacking Burke for the dragon queen. Toothless then got caught by a net and although he could have killed Hiccup he did not. He then took on the help of Hiccup to continue flying. Toothless then at the end of the story beating the queen with the help of hiccup. Toothless was lost but found hope through Hiccup. Toothless then stood up to his superior. Unlike the Prometheus myth, Toothless does defeat the one who is trying to hold him
