This assignment looks at the case study of Fred Brown, he is admitted to the hospital for a left total knee replacement. Following the surgery Mr Brown has he is admitted to a ward. The assignment looks at the registered nurse role and responsibilities caring for Mr Brown for the first twenty-four hours’ post-surgery. This will include the assessments and interventions for Mr Brown, considering his co-morbidities and possible problems. Also, looking at the possible complications of general anaesthesia has on Mr Brown’s health regarding his chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Once Mr Brown has recovered from the knee replacement surgery he will be discharged from the hospital service. The discharge planning commences before the actual date
