Over the course of the semester of the new year as a sophomore, I have faced new situations that have changed me as a global citizen. I have grown in both the ability to communicate ideas and in my college readiness. I achieved this growth through my new classes and desire to reach a new level. This year I communicated my ideas by having to prepare for giving a presentation and then presenting and in front of an audience and for a grade. The overall process towards making my presentation was grueling and the pressure that came with it added on to the difficulty of the assignment, not to mention that before the project, art seemed uninteresting to me. The presentation I had to give was for my European history class and the topic of my presentation was on …show more content…
During the project, Mr. Dewale gave me a guide sheet that asked me to research the artwork and answer the following questions: Who created it? What is it about? How did people react to it at the time it was created? How does this piece of art demonstrate/exemplify Baroque art? Does it address any political/intellectual/religious /technological/economic/social themes or values? Is this piece public or private? How does this art help us better understand this piece of art help us better understand this period in history? What does this say about us as human beings? Once all questions were answered, my group had to then memorize the answers since the presentation required memorization of all information since notes during the presentation weren’t allowed and the only thing that would be displayed on the board would be an image of the Baroque artwork. The entire project was both stressing and helpful since this presentation was a lot harder than most and it took communicating ideas to a whole new level and prepared me for future presentations. This is because the presentation helped me improve my research skills, memorizing abilities, and public speaking abilities all which are important to being

The artist I chose to do my paper on is Giovanni Paolo Panini and the name of the work is Interior of St. Peter’s, Rome by Gionanni Paolo Panini. This work is about the interior of the church called St. Peter’s Basilica and it was created in 1731 in Rome, Italy, Europe. This piece of work is a view painting of the interior of St’ Peter’s Basilica and since it is a church it is a religious and symbolic example of the piousness of the people of these times. Giovanni Paolo Pannini was born in 1691 in Piacenza, Italy, eventually Pannini moved to Rome, Italy where he lived the rest of his life until his death in 1765. In Pannini’s younger years he was aiming to have a career in the church and in this process he had learned about art and architecture and had a good understanding of it by the time he had gotten to Rome in 1711 where he continued his artistic training under Benedetto Luti.…

With a blink of an eye I can say that this semester came to an end. I still re-call the first day I entered my WRI102 class, with my professor giving instructions on what we are going to do throughout the semester and about her expectations from us. I immediately had the thought that I will not be doing very well in the course. But then I read in the same day this quote, which inspired me to work hard: “Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star” (Stone, n.d.).…

The professor assigned every student to choose the topic relating to class materials and inspiring us as well. It was very hard to decide when I initially thought about it because there are many areas of theatre materials that are interesting. Throughout the whole paper, I would present the process and the significant reflection on creating the creative project and presentation.…

A majority of technical writing/reports rely heavily on the visual layout and the design. Visual layout and design is an area of my writing that greatly improved as the semester progressed. At the beginning of the semester visual layout and design was not a major point of emphasis in my writing, however, as the semester progressed, I began to consider visual design more and more. This progression helped me to make three visually appealing artifacts that subsequently helped improve each artifact individually. My conscious inclusion of visual design in my writing helped to make the presentation cleaner and easier to follow as well as helping to improve upon the visual aspect of WOVEN.…
