In chapter eleven, we were given a more in depth view into Mrs. Dubose. It was revealed that the children really did not like her. Mrs. Dubose insulted the Finch family and drove Jem to vandalise her plants, causing Jem to be forced into reading to her every day. In chapter twelve, Jem was growing older and Scout started to stay with Calpurnia more that she did Jem and Calpurnia took them the kids to church with her. Jem and Scout found Dill hiding under Scout’s bed. Dill gets in trouble with his aunt for running away from his parents, but is allowed to stay.

Evil: Some people are not honest and could purposefully do a large deal of damage to others. Bob and Mayella Ewell lied about a crime that they say was committed by Tom Robinson solely to have him incarcerated (Lee 232-251).

Scout tried to make casual conversation with a group of people who had arrived intending to do harm to someone else (Lee 205).
Equality/Inequality: People tend to show inequality toward those who are a different race from their own.
