such a young age? These are questions Timothy Hennis should have thought about before he
murdered the Eastburn family. Maybe he would have if he had actually harmed them. I’m here to
explain why Timothy Hennis is not guilty.
In Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 1985, Timothy Hennis a twenty-seven year old Army
soldier based at Fort Bragg, visited the home of Kathryn and her husband, Gary Eastburn, a
captain in the Air Force. The Eastburns were planning on moving out of the country and had put
an ad in the paper to sell their dog. Hennis stopped by their house in response to the newspaper
ad. After four days of neighbors not seeing the Eastburns, …show more content…
The ruling allowed Hennis a second chance to prove his case in a retrial. Escaping
death row, Hennis then re-enlisted in the Army, eventually retiring in 2004 as a Master Sergeant.
In 2006, DNA from Kathryn Eastburn’s rape kit was consistent with Hennis’ DNA. The jury
rendered a guilty verdict and sentenced Hennis to death.
One reason I think Timothy Hennis is not guilty is, a head hair was found in the
Eastburns’ bed that is not Hennis’. If there was an unidentified hair, then that means there could
be another suspect. Someone else could have murdered the Eastburn family. In my opinion the
police and investigators should have figured where the hair came from before sentencing Hennis
to death.
Another reason to why I think Timothy Hennis is not guilty is, because they also
found unidentified DNA under Kathryn’s fingernails. This could mean that somebody could
have been trying to harm. She could have been trying to get away from someone that could have
been holding her down. If it was never identified then that means that Hennis didn’t do this.
The opposing side would respond to my evidence in a way where they would
