Tim Hortons is a well-known business that spreads across North America. Considering the huge success that the company has conquered, they must have the best employees to represent their business. From personal experience I know that they go through a hiring process to ensure their employees are able to positively represent the company. The hiring process includes many interviews with different people which ensure that nobody receives special treatment.

Recently they have begun changing the packaging for their beverages making the packaging thicker which decreased the amount of lids they had to make annually. By decreasing the amount of packaging made, they are able to cut down on the transportation and production. Workers are continuously working to come up with ideas to decrease the annual production as well as making all packaging recyclable. They work with few organizations to try and work together to make sure that all the cups that are produced follow the guidelines and are able to be recycled properly. They are also working with other restaurants in hopes of convincing them to use a compost for leftover coffee beans. Tim Hortons is always trying to decrease the amount of both water and energy that they use. In 2012 they were able to use 68% of organic/bio-degradable materials and only 9% of actual waste that would end up in landfills. Tim Hortons has many community programs as well as partnerships, relations, events and sponsorships to ensure that they are able to help their community. To begin they offer free skates and swimming at local arenas/pools to allow children to grow and be able to experience things they may not otherwise be able to. This ties in with the sponsorship that they offer, which include soccer, hockey and baseball teams for children which they call “Timbits Sports”. They also sponsor well known corporations such as the Tim Hortons Brier Curling, National Hockey Teams and Football teams. Aside from sponsorship, Tim Hortons organizes many events to help the environment with the help of many communities, which include an annual corporate clean-up, eco-festivals and on many occasions just inviting others to help clean the surrounding areas. Tim Hortons also works closely with the Aboriginal people in a campaign titled “Horizons” in which they are able to help the Aboriginals with education, employment, empowering youth and environmental issues. Together Tim Hortons is able to educate people on the problems that the Aboriginals are facing today and how everyone can help. They provide employment and work together in trying to find solutions to the current problems that they have. Lastly Tim Hortons tries to help out everyone possible, which includes the coffee farmers. They try to help support coffee farmers in specific areas that are
