Donors often have high expectations when selecting where to donate among other charitable organizations. As per the research, the major determinants that motivate a donor include the confidence that their donations are being put to proper use by the organization, convenience of donation drop-off locations, and service mission of the organization. Younger individuals are more likely to value convenience of drop-off location while older people are more likely to value the service mission and the proper use of their donations (Mitchell, Montgomery, & Rauch, 2009). Achieving a better understanding of donor behavior allow organizations to improve their operational effectiveness.
2. Building long term relationship with donors benefits the organization in the long run.

4. Educating people about recycling process, decrease the money spend on dumping.
5. Understanding the true value of donating keeps everyone happy as more they know the better they support.
Recommendations
Supported by the findings and conclusions of this proposal, the following recommendations are offered in an effort to decrease the amount of unwanted donations at the Salvation Army Thrift Store:
1. Continuous encouragement for good donations via coupons and rewarding program.
2. Clearly display a list of unacceptable donations at drop-off area in large font.
3. Relocate all signs posted for greater visibility, including dropping off hours and unacceptable donations.
4. Appreciate each donor and their contribution by publishing donor lists.
5. Encourage people to bring donations after categorize them.
6. Make people aware of dropping off hours and acceptable donations via flyers, signs, and websites at the same time it promotes
