That’s tons of rain compared to what some biomes get! (The desert gets less than 25 cm, [about 10 inches,] a year!) All this rain results in lush plant growth and bad soil. Rain can come in quick showers that last half an hour, or they can come in showers that last all day long. But there is never a week gone by without rain. The reason it rains so much in rainforests is because the hot temperatures evaporate water very quickly every day, and then it comes down on the rainforest again. Keep in mind little of the rivers or seas nearby will also evaporate along with the rain that came not too long ago, so those also play a big factor in rain.
The tropical rainforests are hot, humid, sticky places. It never gets cold, just hot! The yearly average temperature in tropical rainforests range from 21 degrees celsius to 30 degrees celsius. (70 degrees fahrenheit to 85 degrees fahrenheit.) As we all know, hot plus rain equals humid! The rainforest is very humid, and it has a high humidity of 77% to 88%
