1) There are three forms of therapy in the field of psychology that are the most interesting. One form of therapy that is interesting is the cognitive behavioral therapy. Another interesting form of therapy is electroconvulsive therapy. Lastly, a third interesting form of therapy is existential therapy. Each form of therapy has their own specific goal and key components to reach those goals.

2) Cognitive behavioral therapy has the goal of treating a patient's fear, thought process, and behavior. Some techniques involved in cognitive behavioral therapy is role play, behavioral contract, systematic desensitization, and flooding. Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) has a goal of treating depression. ECT emulates electricity into the brain, causing small pockets of memory-loss. Existential therapy aims to treat a patient whose condition is affecting their life. Therefore, the therapist will tell the patient everything happens for a reason, then converses on the steps to overcome the mental illness or condition.

Cognitive behavioral therapy uses the technique of flooding. Flooding drowns the patient with the trigger of a phobia. As the patient is exposed to his/her phobia, then realized the phobia did not cause their death, is extremely important in overcoming a fear. In addition, role-play is another technique in cognitive behavioral therapy. Role-play involves the practice of an event to overcome a fear, such as stage-fright.
