Some of the dimensions of wellness, include physical, financial, spiritual, emotional, interpersonal and intellectual. Physical wellness, the dimension of wellness considered most often, is the overall condition of one’s body as well as their fitness level and their ability to take care of their self. Developing a fitness routine and being informed about any health conditions one may have are two great ways to develop physical wellness. Financial wellness refers to one 's ability to live within their means and manage their money. By establishing a budget and limiting the use of credit cards one is on the way to financial wellness. Spiritual wellness is having a set of guiding beliefs, principles or values that give one’s life meaning and purpose. …show more content…
Emotional wellness can be achieved by seeking professional help for emotional issue that you cannot find solutions to as well as working on self acceptance through things such as keeping a daily journal or daily affirmations. To have interpersonal wellness one must have satisfying and supportive relationships with others that include good communication skills and a capacity for intimacy. To develop interpersonal wellness, a person can become involved in their community. Maybe they can volunteer for something like Big Brother/ Big Sister or become involved in a support group. Lastly, intellectual wellness is having an active mind, constantly learning. One way to help the development of intellectual wellness is to take an adult education class, maybe you have a subject you want to learn about. Some other things you can do are different puzzles. Lifestyle choices can help in keeping at bay health conditions that someone may be predestined for based on genetics. If a person has a family history of high blood pressure or obesity, having an active lifestyle and healthy eating habits can reduce the possibility of them having either affliction. Likewise a person with a sedentary lifestyle with healthy eating habits might seem to be healthy. However they lack the strength and flexibility that a person with a more active lifestyle would have. Three habits that anyone could incorporate into their life improve their quality of life include daily exercise, eating healthier and journaling. By improving the condition of a person’s body daily exercise and healthy eating increases a person’s physical wellness. Daily exercise does not have to be anything intense or high impact, something a simple as a 30 minute walk daily can improve your fitness level and extend your life expectancy. Just like the daily exercise, eating health does not have to be anything intense or extreme. A person can simply improve their eating habits by drinking more water and eating a more balanced diet. Doing these simple things can result in having more energy and reducing the risk of some health issues. Journaling can help a person work through issues thus increasing their emotional and spiritual wellness. If done consistently journaling can help a person with learn a lot about
