In France, Hobbes went and devoted his life to studying the system of life. Hobbes first study in France was the physical doctrine of motion and physical momentum. He studied the physical phenomena in terms of motion and the difference between man and nature, trying to separate man and nature into two different things. He then went into a deeper study on man such as knowledge, affection, and passion to fully understand a man. After studied the human man, he went and argued “brutishness and misery” about the man having to move into society. After the argument, if people did not agree with him, then he would agree to unite man and the state. Hobbes went home in 1637 confused about the plan he had made for himself as a philosopher.
